Hi everyone! Today’s going to be a ‘DIY Decor’ post, but with a twist. More like I’m just documenting my budget friendly decor journey this season. Hope ya’ll don’t mind! It’s so much fun decorating with my online family. My husband and I went on the search for the perfect fake tree that would fit in our apartment living room. Like Goldilocks we wanted it to be, “Just right!”
With that said we were marveling at the real trees all around town. With the nice holiday lights set up and tempted by the amazing smells, it’s hard to resist. However a real tree is simply a hassle for us at the moment.
So our mission was to find a real looking faux tree under 100$. We went to Lowe’s originally, and got caught up in their Holiday sales. Again, these things are truly hard to resist for someone like me. We saw one that was great for 60$, and seriously considered it. However I’m the type to try and find a better deal even if it means waiting a little bit longer for that right purchase.
Guess what, we found an even better tree at Walmart for only 40$ and it was exactly what we were looking for! An easy to assemble, 6.5ft, real looking tree to display the cozy Holiday season ahead. It’s not totally decorated yet, but I wanted to share what I’m doing with it at the moment. We also found some fun and colorful dancing lights, which one strand was enough to cover all of it.
This is a 40$ easy to set up tree, with a not too wide base, and a great height if you are looking for one that matches your budget at Walmart. Perfect! We love decorating the tree ourselves, and don’t mind if it doesn’t come with lights already on it. If you all have seen my 2016 Fall Fireplace Tour I have these faux fall leave strands that I found at Dollar Tree, and wanted to continue to use them. They’re just so pretty I didn’t want to put them back in the storage box.
I saw on Pinterest of some super creative ladies that use their Fall decor on their tree, and was just gasping at how gorgous mixing seasonal foliage can look. The look of a holiday tree, colorful twinkle lights, and Autumn leaves is just so visually yummy. All of the colors are just gorgous together with little effort.
If you’re feeling creative this year instead of putting away your Fall decor try putting it on your tree. It ads a touch of warmth, is simply cozy, and you will save money by using your Fall foliage even during the Holidays.
Our tree is getting covered in dollar store seasonal accessories right now. Of which I will do another post on some awesome Dollar Tree Holiday finds! I found some lovely Holiday trinkets at Dollar Tree and just adore these things. I’ve seen at department stores similar items that would break bank. Check out seasonal items at Dollar Tree, you will find super cute items and budget friendly Holiday crafts to do there! Anyways enough rambling here are just a couple fun dollar store decor holiday photos of what I’m putting together this year. 🙂
What do you think?! I would love to know if you have any specific ideas you’re doing this next season as well. Happy budget friendly decorating everyone!
